                           Welcome                                     Researchers

The Anderson County Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogical Society is proud to announce the opening of our Family Research Room.  Genealogical researchers now have four research sources in downtown Anderson; The South Carolina Room at the County Library (864-260-4500), The Anderson County Museum (864-260-4737), the LDS Library (864-225-4050) and now The Anderson County Family Research Room.

The Director of the Convention and Visitor's Bureau has graciously given us space to house our Family Research Room (see How to Find Us) in the Visitors Center which is located  in the beautiful Anderson Arts Center Warehouse at 110 Federal St., Anderson.  Please note that at present we are open only two days a week - Tuesday - 10:00 AM-5:00 PM and  Saturday -10:00 AM - 2:00 PM   On the days the Family Room is not open, the employees of the Visitors Center will not be able to answer your genealogical questions.

We have many chapter publications, which may be purchased during your visit. We are especially delighted  to offer our 2008 Anderson County Heritage Book.

We invite you to share copies of your family history with us.
